Fraud Alert! Protect Your Online Banking Credentials
We have received reports of a telephone scam where individuals are impersonating bank team members on the phone by falsifying their caller ID and by claiming they work for the bank. The scam involves the caller stating they need to confirm a wire or ACH transaction that was attempted on your account and asking for your online banking credentials. This scam is impacting other banks as well.
Please remember, banks never ask for sensitive information like online banking credentials over the phone.
If you receive such a phone call, here are a few steps you can take to protect yourself:
- Hang up and call the bank directly using a phone number from the official website or your bank statement. Don't use any number the caller provides.
- Never share sensitive information like your password, PIN, or any account details over the phone, especially from an unsolicited caller.
- Check your account regularly for unauthorized transactions or activity.
- Enable two-factor authentication for extra protection on your accounts where available.
Please stay cautious and protect your personal information.
